Describe something you learned in high school that you just knew you’d never need after the test.
For me it was algebra. I mean come folks how are you going to use alphabet soup and numbers to solve anything!!??!!?? How wrong I was!
It was not really the ABCs and 123s those teachers wanted ingrained in my head for the future. They were teaching me how to solve problems. How many shingles do I need for my roof? How big does the bed need to be for my new puppy?? How do I get a smile back on my significant other’s face after a huge blowup when I don’t even know what caused it?
The answer to all of those complex and perplexing questions about is to figure out what you know and use ABC’s for what you don’t know and solve the problem. ALGEBRA the remix!
So tell me, what were you certain you would never use beyond passing a quiz or test? How were you proven incorrect?
